"The Tonglegroplet or Juvenile Tonglegrop is the second developmental stage of Glossosphairium polymorphum; it has already developed many of the characteristics of the fully-grown Tonglegrop, but is smaller and remains herbivorous, scooping up plants with its a long tongue. Tonglegroplets are generally nonaggressive and easily avoided, but can become hostile if approached too closely. If they feel threatened, they will respond with a deimatic display, and if this does not deter the predator, they will roll at the perceived threat in an attempt to crush it. Tonglegroplets usually move in herds of up to five, and should not be considered harmless. More trebhum are killed in Tonglegroplet stampedes each year than are eaten by Omnogroms."

- Compendium Entry

Tonglegroplets are medium-sized herbivores found throughout the planet. They are the juvenile stage of the Tonglegrop.

Appearance[]

Tonglegroplets, unlike their Glickbol stage, are now partially exposed from their green egg sacs, now resembling adolescent amphibians. Their pink lower torsos are connected to two four-toed limbs, both of which extend from their sacs. Their striped backs are starting to curve over their sacs in a crest sort of fashion. Their heads, while still retaining their y-shaped mouths, no longer stick their long tongues out, instead having new features like fins extending from their sides, two drooping tendrils near their mouth, and higher positioned eyes.

According to information presented in-game, the environmental conditions of a Glickbol can influence their appearance as they grow in Tonglegroplets. This can be seen with the Blue Tonglegroplet, a Tundra-dwelling subspecies.

Behavior[]

Tonglegroplets will wander around the environment looking for vegetation, usually either alone or in small herds. While they are tolerant of certain animals like Glickbol, they will become uneasy around the presence of other, like the Trebhum. In the event of a Trebhum coming too close, the Tonglegroplet will respond by standing in place and hissing at it. If the Trebhum continues to stay close, the Tonglegroplet will roll in their direction. After attacking, it will repeat the process until the intruder leaves, fleeing the area afterwards.

Strategy[]

Tonglegroplets are generally nonaggressive and easily avoided, unless provoken. In general, just run away from their vicinity so it won't attack. Otherwise, they will quickly roll in your Trebhums' direction, and it's quick enough to usually crush at least one of them. You can also have your Trebhum use a Deimatic Trunk Mutation or Rattle Trunk Mutation to scare them off.

While they are stronger than their Glickbol stage, Tonglegroplets might still flee if attacked hard enough - sometimes even with water - so group of three or more Trebhum can potentially stand their ground and use attacking abilities to drive off or even kill Tonglegroplets.

Drops[]

Normal Tonglegroplets do not drop anything upon death, unlike the Blue Tonglegroplet.
